Who Invented The
Chocolate Chip?
|
|
Ruth Wakefield did in
1937. Ruth and her husband
owned an Inn called the Toll House Inn. She did the cooking and baking
for their guests.
Once, while making a cookie that called for baking chocolate, she
didn’t have that ingredient and substituted a chopped up
Nestle’s Semi- sweet candy bar in the recipe instead. She
discovered after baking the cookie the chocolate pieces did not melt
(only softened) and the Nestle Toll House chocolate
chip cookie (and chocolate chips) were born.
Now, that's inspiration
for making cookies right
now, isn't it?
